After losing her parents to the wars in Sierra Leone, four-year-old Mabinty Bagura is sent to an orphanage. An unsightly skin condition earns her the label of ‘the least favourite child’ among the other children at the orphanage. But despite her situation, she is not discouraged and a picture of a woman dancing in a magazine keeps her little flame of hope burning. Her hopes are lifted even higher when she is adopted by an American family who call her Michaela. 15 Years later, that once timid little girl with a skin condition has transformed into a beautiful, strong and confident ballet dancer. Uplifting and heart-warming.
