The new year is always a time for a fresh start - when people are ready to transform their life and proclaim to make major life and behavioural changes almost overnight. However, come the first of January, those resolutions are usually thrown by the wayside as our usual habits prove harder to break than we anticipated.

Fortunately, there is good news. Manifestation is the spiritual practice that has people achieving their goals and dreams. While resolutions can quickly be forgotten as they offer minimal motivation to be sustainable, manifestation brings the focus to the end goal, and forces us to commit to a process in achieving what we desire.

Manifestation is all about looking inward. Whatever you focus on mentally and energetically is what you bring into your reality. You can manifest through meditation, visualisation or writing things down, for example.

To truly manifest what you desire, you have to feel and believe that what you’re attracting is already on it’s way to you. Here are a few tips on how to do just that, and bring your manifestations into reality:

Reflection

Before beginning the manifestation process, it’s a good idea to reflect on the past year. What did you accomplish, what were your disappointments, and what do you wish to do differently this year? Once you have a clear picture of where you are at, you can establish a clear plan of action for where you would like to be.

Set clear intentions

After reflecting, it’s time to create a pathway forward. Set clear intentions for what it is you’d like to manifest. It helps to write down exactly what you want. Be specific and intentional, use key words and try to phrase your statements as though you already have what you desire, rather than as if you’re still waiting for it. For example, instead of saying: “I am going to be financially abundant, ” replace it with “I attract financial abundance on a daily basis.”

Let go of limiting beliefs and mindsets

In order for your manifestations to become a reality, you have to be in a position to receive it. This has a lot to do with your mindset and belief system. You have to believe that you are deserving of what you want and that you are capable of handling it. Worry, anxiety, self-doubt and negative self-talk are all things that block your manifestations from happening.

Trust the timing of the universe

Manifestation takes commitment and patience. You have to believe that you will get what you want and need when the time is right. You can’t manifest successfully with a rushed and impatient attitude. You also have to believe that what you want won’t pass you by, thus you have nothing to worry about. Rid yourself of a scarcity mentality.

Take actionable steps towards your goals

Like all goals, you have to work towards your manifestations. As you visualise and meditate the life you desire, you have to be physically moving towards it too. Take actionable steps that bring you closer to your goals. When you move, the universe moves with you too. As they say: “Energy flows where energy goes”, and together with your spiritual and physical work, it won’t be long before major changes start taking place in your life.
