GLAMOUR Exclusive: Londie London talks self-love, staying motivated, and keeping fit during the lockdown

We may all be in lockdown, but Londie London isn’t slowing down. The South African musician is dedicated to her fitness routine, and she’s staying healthy, focused, and committed despite the current situation. Londie is a champion for all things health and wellness, and she’s using her social media stardom to spread positivity and keep it real with her loyal fans and followers. 

The TikTok star spoke exclusively to GLAMOUR about her current workout goals, never fearing failure, how she’s being productive during the lockdown, and why it’s so important for your body to align mentally, physically and spiritually.

GLAMOUR: What sparked your passion for fitness and living a healthy lifestyle? 

Londie London: 

Throughout the years I’ve managed to maintain a healthy physique thanks to genetics, but as I grew older my body started becoming heavier and I knew the only way to maintain or keep fit was by working out. And so I did.

GLAMOUR: Was this always important to you, or did a certain instance in your life inspire it?

LL: 

It was not important to me until I started being someone that is in the public eye, I saw it fitting for me to become an example for others. It is important to look and feel your best. 

GLAMOUR: What is your current fitness regimen, and your nutrition plan you use to stay in shape? 

LL: 

Well, my regimen has been quite a mess with the lockdown in place lol. But workout for at least 1 hour four times a week. And I keep a strict healthy diet. I’m currently using the Whole30 meal plan that allows only 1 cheat day in a week. 

GLAMOUR: What's the best way for someone to motivate herself to get fit?

LL: 

Is to set goals for yourself, visualize your success and get a meal plan that works for you. Sometimes making the commitment with a friend also helps. 

GLAMOUR: What one thing do you never skip in your workout?

LL:

 I never skip the treadmill. It helps keep my heart rate up.

GLAMOUR: How would you describe your philosophy on health and fitness? 

LL: 

That “living well doesn’t have to be a chore.” Make it fun and find a workout that brings you joy. 

GLAMOUR: Who or what gives you the most inspiration and motivation to achieve your fitness goals?

LL: 

I believe I am my own inspiration. I never want to let myself down and just thinking about what the end result could be, motivated me enough. 

GLAMOUR: One of the key elements for staying consistent with working out is accountability. 

LL: 

Always stick to the initial plan and implement it without allowing failure to slow you down. Remember own race, own pace!

GLAMOUR: Who keeps you accountable for working out consistently? 

LL: 

My personal trainer, Tsenolo. 

GLAMOUR: What specific fitness goal are you currently focused on? 

LL: 

Right now I’m focused on losing a bit and toning up.

GLAMOUR: How would you define wellness?

LL: 

It means being healthy from within and together with being active, it eventually manifests on the outside.

GLAMOUR: How do you practice wellness in your daily life? 

LL: 

A prayer in the morning lifts up my spirit followed by a healthy meal for energy, and then a workout to keep fit. Basically make sure I’m healthy spiritually, mentally and physically. 

GLAMOUR: What tips would you give to someone wanting to live a more healthy lifestyle? 

LL: 

Just do it. Don’t wait for your friend or for your health to be at risk. Start now!

GLAMOUR: What are the three beauty items you swear by? 

LL: 

The Neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit scrub is my favourite face wash.

Can’t go on a workout without using my Nivea dry fresh spray. 

Lancôme 24hr foundation is my go-to for a natural look.

GLAMOUR: How are you using TikTok to stay active and engage with fans during the quarantine?

LL: 

I’m obsessed with lip-syncing funny South African videos. It also helps fans connect with you on a more relaxed setup. If feels like we are all friends on TikTok.
