Our lives are, at their core, shaped by our habits. Hannah Cragg, a Cape Town–based model, actress and yoga teacher, has built an entire movement around that truth. For Hannah, fitness and health aren’t just passions; they’re a lifeline. What could have been a solitary journey has flourished into a shared one as she brings people together through intentional movement, heartfelt conversation and sustainable lifestyle habits.
Hannah Habits Community Movements offers a warm, welcoming space for anyone craving connection. Whether you’re hoping to make a new friend, explore Cape Town’s mountains safely with others or step into your very first wellness event, the community empowers you to create a healthier lifestyle alongside people who are growing right beside you.
“We move together, we grow together, we support each other. One habit at a time,” she says.
Growing up neurodiverse, the 23-year-old AFDA acting and performance graduate is already carving out her place in the wellness world, recently earning a spot as a top finalist in the Women’s Health Cover Star Search 2025.
We sat down with Hannah to learn more about how it all began, her upcoming events, and how her movement is shaping the broader wellness culture in South Africa.
Glamour: What inspired you to start Hannah Habits Community Movement in Cape Town?
Hannah Cragg: Starting Hannah Habits happened very organically when I went traveling in New York in early 2024. I found myself alone in a big city and wondered how I could meet people. I started looking into joining a run club in Central Park or maybe a fitness studio that offers classes where I could meet "like-minded" people. I began to think about how many people have felt like this in their own city, craving new friendships, seeking adventure, and doing fitness activities in a community. So, Hannah Habits was created first as an Instagram page for me to share my journey, which has now evolved into an active community of over 1,000 people who move together every month.
Glamour: How has your own love for movement shaped the way you bring people together?
Hannah Cragg: When reflecting on what movement has done for me, it's impossible not to want to share it with the world. For as long as I can remember, I have had a sense of freedom in my body. Growing up with the privilege of participating in after-school sports and arts and cultural activities, I found my love for performing and went on to study my undergraduate degree in Live Performance. When I started Hannah Habits, I was comfortable holding space and engaging with lots of people, and I realised that this is what people needed - to create proper connections with others while feeling safe and grounded within their bodies through movement.
Glamour: From sunrise hikes to Pilates Sculpt, what makes each event special?
Hannah Cragg: Each Community Movement event I host is intentional. At the beginning of each month, I put out a schedule of activities and events for people to see what style of movement resonates with them most. I am hyper-aware of always having a balance between free and ticketed events, which allows for accessibility for anyone who would like to be a part of the community. Within each event, there is usually a fun theme (e.g., a pink party, Starbucks Saturdays, Keinemusic themed MAT CORE, New Year's Day Hike). Another core value of Hannah Habits is collaboration. I pitch to local brands and put together proposals for sponsorship for my community members to make events immersive and memorable.
Glamour: What do you want newcomers to feel when they join their first Hannah Habits event?
Hannah Cragg: I hope that someone new who joins the Hannah Habits Community feels ‘seen’. I always encourage people to show up alone and step out of their comfort zone. I want them to know that, as scary as it may be in the beginning - both starting their fitness journey and showing up to a group of strangers - that first day will be their only first time. So, those first 20 seconds of introducing themselves may feel awkward, but they may also change their life.
Glamour: How do you create a safe and inclusive space for people of all fitness levels and backgrounds?
Hannah Cragg: Creating a safe space is non-negotiable for the Hannah Habits community. To manage expectations of fitness levels, I will always attach the session's intensity, which allows each member to choose which styles of movement resonate with them as well as what intensity they are looking for. This also helps in creating a safe space for connection and no judgment.
Glamour: What role does connection and community play in developing healthy, sustainable habits?
Hannah Cragg: Connection and community are fundamental pillars of the human experience. We are the ecosystem that supports each other. Through connection, an individual can typically feel grounded and safe. This safety in the body helps them respond to life from a rooted and regulated state, which is where healthy habits are developed. My hope for Hannah Habits is that people feel that connection within themselves while moving together and then go on about their day making beneficial, healthy habits that ultimately lead to a rich and full life.
Glamour: How do you see Hannah Habits contributing to the broader wellness culture in South Africa?
Hannah Cragg: Hannah Habits Community Movement has a refreshing impact in the broader wellness space in South Africa. If you take a step back and notice patterns and behavior of the youth, there has been a huge step towards wellness. This community has created a space to start; you don't need to be good to start, you just need to show up. I think the refreshing attitude towards what it means to lead a healthy lifestyle is the narrative that we as youth are pushing. We are craving authentic connection that the existing wellness space has always been more about personal self-care rather than the rise of communities.
Glamour: What kind of collaborations in the wellness space excite you the most?
Hannah Cragg: My personal favourite collaboration in the health and wellness space is where wellness brand and wellness influencers come together and bend barriers of expectation. A prime example of this would be the rise of coffee raves. Something so fun and comforting, where brands can get involved and sponsor community members with their morning coffee and treats, and then cool music and movement to dance and wake up. We're noting that wellness within the means of collaboration can be valued in all lifestyle brands if their value systems and communities resonate with each other.
Glamour: Growing a community isn’t always easy. What challenges have you faced and how did you handle them?
Hannah Cragg: Growing a community has come with its challenges; the biggest challenge is creating awareness. Social media is a major asset in creating traction for the community WhatsApp chat; however, more often than not, the content gets lost in the algorithm. I have really tried to develop a strong sense of individual and personal brand when it comes to Hannah Habits, consistently using names for events that are catchy and recognisable.
Glamour: Exploring Cape Town’s natural beauty is part of the experience. How does being in nature add to the wellness journey?
Hannah Cragg: The word that comes to mind when thinking of all the hikes and trail walks we've done in Cape Town's mountains is "grounded." The natural beauty and fresh ocean breeze give you an appreciation for life that adds to the wellness experience. It helps an individual tap into their body and connect to their environment and them self.
Glamour: Where do you see Hannah Habits in the next five years and what’s your ultimate dream for the community?
Hannah Cragg: In the next 5 years, I have very big dreams for Hannah Habits. I would love to bring in guides for specific styles of movement - individuals who are passionate about this community and are excited to scale together, making Hannah Habits Community Movement a nationwide community. Another dream is to grow my personal brand to an international recognised health and wellness community to join in from anywhere in the world. This is when I would introduce a "habits" programs to assist with your wellness journey at home with movement, mental health habits , dietary habits, personal habits. I hope to change as many lives as possible, one little habit at a time.
