With roots in Kenya and already making waves across the African continent, Kenyan-born singer Silas Miami is about to blow your mind. The tall, dark and handsome Silas sings in both English and Swahili, and has the looks to match his irresistibly smooth vocals.
We caught up with the hottie between takes finishing off his debut EP to chat about all things dates, women and holiday hot spots.
What would you say is your best attribute?
Physical attribute? I love to laugh. People seem to like it when I do. My smile. Emotional attribute? I’m a fixer.
What’s the most attractive thing about a woman?
I’ve spent my life pretty much worshipping women. Their very existence is sufficient. I can’t pick one thing. The feminists in my life will have my head.
Describe your perfect date.
First dates are reserved for the candle lit dinners in fine-dinning establishments, the drives up to view points and the watching of tear-jerking rom-coms (with salted popcorn and everything). But I really love my solace, and anyone who can gain access into that private space is deserving of an honest view of what that looks like:
A home cooked meal (I make a gangster chicken curry), a great bottle of wine- or two, fantastic conversation and a Judd Apatow Movie. This counts as my perfect date. If we can both feel comfortable around each other in a setting as intimate as that- then we’re good.
If you could vacation anywhere, what would be your top spot?
Zanzibar. The water is great, the beach is breath taking, the people are phenomenal and the views…Lord. Plus, everyone speaks Swahili: you’ll never hear a language as musical and glorious.
What’s your favourite drink and why?
Red wine. One word: Shondaland.
