7 beauty hacks for looking radiant after dark

Before a big night out, every girl wants her skin to look absolutely perfect. Looking your best before a special occasion is not only about nailing your outfit, but also making sure that your makeup is on point.

Whether you have an hour to prep for a party or just fifteen minutes, we scoured the web and compiled the ultimate roundup of quick beauty tricks so that you can get your glam on in no time.

But, before you apply your makeup, you should always take time out to prepare your skin because no matter how superb your makeup is or how perfect your technique is, you won’t achieve your desired look if your skin isn’t cared for.

Begin your skin prep by washing your face with a gentle cleanser. Next, hydrate your skin with your favourite moisturiser. Then use a natural primer as the base for your makeup. Remember that a primer can also help to smooth away fine lines, mask pores, correct discoloration and reduce any redness.

Now you’re ready to do your makeup.

Here are some of our favourite hacks to create a head-turning look for a dazzling night out.

1. Try a wet eyeliner brush.

Traditional liquid liner can sometimes be messy and difficult to apply. For the same dramatic effect without the mess, wet an eyeliner brush, dip it into black or charcoal shadow and glide it along your lash-line.

2. Add a dash of sparkle.

To achieve a glamorous glow add a sweep of shimmery face powder to your cheekbones.

3. Wear a bright blusher.

While a subdued shade of blusher works well during the day, try an amped up version for night. Applied lightly, even the most intense colour will look amazing.

4. Stick on some false lashes.

Single lashes (not full lash strips) can be applied whenever you want to create a standout look. Attach a few of them to the outer corners of your eyes.

5. Don't re-manicure.

When wearing a deep-coloured nail polish in the evening, there's no need to remove what you're already wearing. Simply paint over it and your existing colour will act as a base coat.

6. Rock gold lip gloss.

Even the most subtle lipstick shade can be transformed to make a bold statement with a bit of gold gloss. Dot some in the middle of your bottom lip, on top of your lipstick, and then rub your lips together to blend it in.

7. Open up your eyes.

To create a wide-eyed, sexy look, dust on shimmery white shadow around their inner corners of your eyes.
