Choosing the right sunscreen from the inside out, with BIODERMA

There’s nothing quite like a bit of sunshine to uplift your body and mind. But there also comes with it a host of risks and dangers - due to UVB (B for burning) and UVA (A for ageing) rays.

This is where BIODERMA comes in.

For over 40 years, BIODERMA’s Photoderm sunscreen has protected all skin types with its double protective formula, combining external protection (filters) against UVA/UVB rays with their Cellular Bioprotection.™

While most sunscreens protect against UV rays, our skin also has its own natural defences (such as melanin production). BIODERMA goes beyond the ordinary sun care promise, and reinforces these natural protective mechanisms in the skin.

The Cellular Bioprotection™ patent is a unique biological protection that wakes up the skin cells to boost their own self-defence mechanisms, and allows them to better resist sun damage.

Photoderm products are safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

When choosing a sunscreen, it’s important to choose the right sunscreen for your skin type. The ideal SPF for you depends on factors such as age, natural skin tone, and your tendency to burn.

Below is BIODERMA’s guideline to choosing the correct SPF for you:

  • If you have pale & sensitive skin, if your skin is prone to redness or has a high tendency to burn, or if you haven’t spent time in the sun yet this season, choose SPF50+
  • If choosing sunscreen for kids, choose SPF 50+
  • If you have a naturally darker skin tone, if you tan easily with a low tendency to burn, or if you’ve already spent time in the sun this season, you can choose SPF30.

BIODERMA’s photoderm line comes in various products and textures to suit different skincare needs - from family and kid-friendly, to sensitive, oily, and combination skin.
