“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” his family said in a statement.
Angus Cloud, the actor made famous for his memorable role as Fezco “Fez” O’Neill on the HBO series Euphoria, has died. He was 25 years old.
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” Cloud’s family said in a statement to Variety. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone,” the statement continued. “We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Amid a cast that includes Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, and more, Cloud stood out as a significant and unforgettable force on Euphoria. His character, a drug dealer, became a fan favorite, often acting as a moral center for the controversial series and serving as something of a big brother/protector for Zendaya's character, Rue. But when Glamour interviewed the actor in 2022, he addressed fans' assumptions that he was playing himself. “It's a whole different character, you know, we just talk the same,” he said. “It's kind of like when you see other actors that are slightly similar to the roles they end up playing in movies and whatnot. It's like that.”
