SEE: SA influencers are enjoying the Maldives at the moment

The Maldives has emerged as the hot new playground for South Africans lately. Travelers wanting to venture to the white sandy archipelagic state need only a negative PCR test approximately 96 hours before arrival to the Maldives, and no pre-arrival visa is required to enter the country. Some resorts may ask for testing upon request.

With travel starting to slowly open back up again, resorts and hotels in the Maldives are amping up their tourism offerings and marketing, in an attempt to lure in visitors itching for a luxury break - and it seems to be working.

Little can be done to resist 5-star accommodation, pristine beaches, turquoise waters and an island escape from reality.

And it seems our local influencers have given into the temptation too. Media darlings including Aisha Baker, Sarah Langa and Aqelah Harron from Fashion Breed are currently (or have recently) enjoying a Maldives getaway. Between sunrise swims, romantic bike rides and the most stylish island swimwear, we’re definitely living vicariously through them right now.

Here is what they’ve been up to so far:

Aisha Baker - A family-friendly Maldives trip.

The fashion influencer jetted off to the island with her cricketer husband Wayne Parnell and their two little ones, including their newly-born baby girl.

Aqeelah Harron - Baby-mooning

Aqeelah Harron recently delighted her followers when she announced her pregnancy after openly struggling with fertility issues for years. The blogger is currently enjoying a pre-baby getaway with her husband - and they couldn’t look more in love.

Sarah Langa - Showing off her island style

The fashionista has been in the Maldives for a couple of days now has been showing of her laid-back island style, tanned skin and beachy hair.
