South African hitmaker, Sho Madjozi, wins big at the BET awards in Los Angeles. The Limpopo Champion League debutant won the Best New International Act category, beating her counterparts from Europe.
AKA who was also in the running for an award but lost to Burna Boys congratulated her on his Instagram page. The Huku superstar becomes the first South Africa female artist to scoop a BET awards.

In her acceptance speech Sho Majozi said that the award has proven that even a village girl from Limpopo can win an award.
"My story is testament that you can come from any village, in any forgotten part of the world, and still be a superstar. For girls that come from where I am from, which is Limpopo, I just want to say that you don't need to change who you are, you can still be big," said the Limpopo born star.
Hip Hop superstar, Cardi B was among the many who celebrated Sho Majozi win as she posted on Instagram stories. "I saw you girl! I saw you won. Congrats," Cardi said to Sho in the video.
The win also comes a year after Sjava won the Viewers' Choice: Best International Act Award at the BET Awards. Black Coffee was the first South African to win a BET. He was named Best International Act: Africa award in 2016. South Africans also took to social media to congratulate Sho after her victory.
