Go on a journey through the ages with Nomadic Couture

Celebrated fashion designer, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, famously known as Coco Chanel, is the original queen of fashion. Chanel made a fashion breakthrough in the 1900s through her love for horses and fashion. When she started dressing women in men’s polo uniforms, she changed the landscape of women’s fashion, forever.

If you didn't know, the first ever Standard Bank Joburg Polo in The Park will be taking place at Steyn City, on 16 November 2019—with acclaimed actress Amanda du-Pont as the host for the inaugural event.

‘What better way to celebrate the horseback movement of Man from China through Persia to Africa, than with the “SPORT OF KINGS”, elevated through the skill of Couture,’ says fashion designer, Malcolm Kluk.

The theme for the Polo in the Park is Nomadic Couture. ‘The theme is set to show off high fashion on a global platform and it will not disappoint,’ said designer Jacques Lagrange.

Drawing inspiration from different continents, and finding a common ground in celebrating different cultures and eras coming together—nomadic couture aims to take you on a journey through ages.

The Father of Fashion in Polo, Ralph Lauren had his nomadic inspired 2017 Collection, and described it as, ‘an exotic sophistication contrasting pure shapes with rustic textures, burnished golds, shades of the desert, and artful, one-of-a-kind jewellery.’

Join us at the inaugural Joburg Polo in the park, where the Nomadic Couture dress code is BOLD and PERSONAL.
