The Style Blogger Starter
GLAMOUR is searching for the next big blogging talent, which is why we – in association with Orange– called on our readers to send us links to their blogs to stand a chance of winning big.
Now, we’ve selected the super-talented five finalists, and here they are! Their blogs show off their personal style, writing skill, and passion for fashion – but now we want to see them taking all that to the next level. To show that they’ve got what it takes to blog with the best of them, the fashionable five will compete in four weekly tasks.
The Challenge
Each of our finalists had to live tweet an event. It could be any happening, big or small, and the only restriction was that the tweets should be sent as it was taking place.
The tweets
Click through the tweets above to see all of the contestants’ tweets from the four different events that they attended. Overall, the GLAMOUR team was really impresssed with the quality of the bloggers’ tweets, which were interesting, well-suited to the bloggers’ audiences and useful to anyone wanting to find out more about the events that our finalists attended.
What we thought
Jess produced fun, well-written tweets with a good sense of humour – but that were helpfully informative, too. She pointed out potential problems that visitors to the event might experience, while also highlighting what shouldn’t be missed at Bastille Day.
Leigh tweeted a lot in a short space of time, showing off great attention to detail as she shared her favourite finds from the Shoestring Collective Pop-up Shop.
Phume tweeted a lively, informative report of her night at Parker’s Comedy, sharing a joke with her followers and adding in some pictures, too.
Sabu did a good job of adding the facts of Kagiso Lediga’s performance to her opinions of it.
And the winner is…
Our favourite tweets of Task 4 came from Leigh, who didn’t just tweet an impressive quantity of tweets, but also kept up a high quality throughout. Her tweets encouraged interaction (and she was rewarded with replies) and made good use of tags and hashtags to get them widely seen.
Want to find out who the final Style Blogger Starter is? We’ll be announcing the overall winner of the competition later today, so keep an eye on the GLAMOUR Facebook and Twitter feeds to find out.
