Its been a whirlwind year for the Miss South Africa organisation. From the surprise resignation of CEO Stephanie Weil to creative director Werner Wessels stepping down earlier in 2025, and even the announcement that Bonang Matheba won’t be returning as host, fans have been left wondering what the future of the pageant would look like.
In August, the organisation confirmed that the competition would be postponed to a later date, offering little explanation and sparking frustration among pageant enthusiasts. The silence fuelled even more speculation: would Miss SA even return this year, and if so, would it still carry the same weight and glamour as before?
Now, after months of restructuring and unanswered questions, the organisation has finally broken its silence, not with the answers fans were hoping for, but with a major update nonetheless. The 2025 judging panel has officially been revealed, and with it comes confirmation that the top 10 finalists will be announced on Tuesday, 16 September.
The judging panel this year features a dynamic mix of talent and expertise, including former Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri,
media personality Liezel van der Westhuizen, a certified neuroscience and mental fitness coach,
as well as global emcee, broadcaster, and veteran investigative journalist and anchor Devi Sankaree Govender.
This year marks a noticeable shift from tradition. Instead of introducing a top 30, the competition will cut straight to the top 10, another sign that Miss SA 2025 will not follow the same path as previous years.
While fans still await an official date for the finale, the announcement of the judges has injected fresh energy into a pageant season clouded by uncertainty. For now, all eyes are on the next chapter: who will make the top 10, and how will this “new era” of Miss South Africa unfold?
