As a publicist for Penguin Random House, Kim Peters spends her days sharing new books with the people who she knows will love them most. Who better, then, to answer a few questions about what we should be reading next?
Q: What are you reading right now?
Behind the Door: The Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp Story by Mandy Wiener and Barry Bateman
Q: Locally and internationally, who are your favourite authors right now?
Kathryn Stockett ( The Help), Sue Monk Kidd ( The Secret Life of Bees), Markus Zusak ( The Book Thief)
Q: Who is a hugely underrated author/author who should be getting more attention?
Q: E-reader or hard copy?
I love to use my Kindle when I’m traveling. If I’m at home, then I read hard copies 90% of the time.
Q: What was your favourite book when you were a child?
The Digging-Est Dog by Al Perkins and illustrated by Eric Gurney
Q: Do you have a favourite genre? If so, what is it?
Historical fiction.
Q: Where is your favourite place to read?
I’d love to say in a hammock on a deserted island, but usually I read in bed or on the couch – whenever and wherever I get a chance!
