One of our favorite drinks and brands Bernini is celebrating Valentine’s day differently this year; by celebrating friendships. And you know they is nothing we love more that talking about girl power and squad goals so we chatted to Phemelo Segoe – brand consultant, wellness coach and founder of Milltribe to find out why she thinks celebrating your friends on Valentine’s Day is just as important as celebrating your romantic relationships.
So you believe Valentine's Day isn't just about celebrating being booed up? It can also be a day for friends?
“Definitely. Our friends can be our soulmates too. Prioritizing our friendships and allowing them to take centre-stage every now and again strengthens the bond and allows us to celebrate them. Our friends support us through all our obstacles and seldom get rewarded for their constant loyalty and love. We must nurture all our relationships not just the romantic ones”.
Top 5 suggestions of how to celebrate Valentine’s day with your besties?
- Cook dinner together, pour yourself ice cold Bernini's and watch a movie huddled on the couch.
- Go out for facials and then lunch!
- Get your nails done together and go out for some drinks, preferably Bernini ;)
- Have a slumber party with coordinated pyjamas, lots of chocolate + pink drinks
- A karaoke girls night in or out :)
Explain your idea of the ultimate girl’s night?
“My ultimate girl's night begins when getting ready. Getting ready together, fixing each other's make-up, complementing each other and building each other's confidence. Taking selfies then heading out to our predetermined location for dinner then pictures with our outfits before possibly spilling food on them.
We proceed to having a night full of laughter, light conversation, deep conversation, delicious food and ice cold drinks. The night ends off with some carefree dancing and singing along to the music too loudly until our backs give in. We Uber home, take off our makeup and go to sleep happy”.
