Ever since her rise to global stardom, Beyoncé Knowles has been rocking an incredibly fit frame that women all around the world aspire to attain. The Grammy winner is known for her curves, abs, and all-around strong body that keeps her healthy as she performs on stages around the world and continues reaching new career goals day by day. However, Beyoncé’s admirable physique didn’t become all that it is overnight. She abides by a very strict health and wellness regimen in order to keep her body in peak shape so she can continue conquering the entertainment business.

1. Be Open to Anything

Beyoncé doesn’t shy away from hopping on new wellness trends and trying innovative techniques to keep her body tight and right. The pop sensation has tried everything from the Master Cleanse Lemonade Diet, the 22 Day Vegan Diet, the Maple Syrup Diet, and more unique methods to tone down. She never uses the same fitness regimen, and she’s always switching up her routine and kick-starting her system, which is very important.

When our bodies become comfortable with a similar workout schedule, we don’t progress and challenge ourselves. Our bodies become familiar with the same workouts, and this limits us from pushing forward and continuing to improve. The same applies to wellness. It’s important to introduce new healthy habits to our bodies, and never stay the same.

2. Never Compare Yourself to Others

Everyone’s body is different, so doing what someone else does in the gym may not work for you specifically, even if it works wonders for them. In the words of Beyoncé herself, “Not everyone is supposed to be the same. Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you.” Beyoncé also has said that she is not someone “who is naturally very thin,” and she is “a person who has to work to keep my body in shape.” She focuses on her individual goals, and stays dedicated to doing what is best for her own body.

3. Embrace Healthy Habits

Beyoncé’s nutrition regimen is optimal in order for her to stay in amazing shape. She follows a low-calorie diet, avoids red meat, eats lots of fish, and indulges in health grains such as quinoa, rather than rice and pasta. For breakfast, the award-winning artist might have something like vanilla chia pudding with one cup of fresh berries. Her lunch may include red cabbage and green apple sesame slaw with one small baked sweet potato.

Later in the day, an afternoon snack might include 1/4 cup of hummus with sliced fresh vegetables. For dinner, she will have black bean and quinoa salad with cumin dressing. However, her day doesn’t stop there. Beyoncé ends the day with a little dark chocolate, and isn’t afraid to embrace her sweet tooth. When dieting, it’s important to balance and go easy on yourself every now and then, rather than depriving yourself entirely. “I always treat myself to one meal on Sundays when I can have whatever I want,” Beyoncé has said, noting that she doesn’t shy away from chocolate cake, pizza, fries, wine, and the likes when indulging in a cheat meal. Everything in moderation!

4. Hitting the Gym Hard

In order to give full-out performances on the regular, Beyoncé needs to put 100 percent energy into her workouts. She follows a circuit training regimen that focuses on moving your shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. However, she mixes up her routine by also doing interval training, yoga, and pilates for a holistic regimen. She begins all of her workouts with a five-minute warm up, and then completes three circuits with 12-15 reps in each exercise. Her circuits also include treadmill sprints, crunches, push-ups, dips, lunges, and squats.

5. Mindful Mentality

Beyoncé stays grounded in her goals and wellness philosophy in order to overcome all potential obstacles and continue exceeding her goals. She has fun, stays light-hearted, and is nice to her body, always promoting self-love and grinding while doing so.

She knows the cost of having a fit physique and a healthy lifestyle, and she’s committed to staying on track. Her words to live by? “The truth is, it’s a lot of sacrifice. It’s more about your mental strength than physical strength. You have to push yourself. It doesn’t matter what trainer you have. And it doesn’t matter what program you’re on. You have to be healthy and make the right choices.”
