A GLAMOUR Exclusive with Khanyisa Madubula

Content curator & comedic sensation, Khanyisa Madubula, has joined the line up of talent featuring in Jameson’s Humour Me series.

Last month, Jameson had Mzansi dazed and confused with their announcement of the whiskey brand’s launch of a new skincare range, Beatha. Nonetheless, we all cheered in confusion, I mean it is 2021, we’re still trying to survive a pandemic among other things, anything is possible, right?

However, Jameson had us all fooled with this April Fool’s day trick which turned out to be the intro to their new comedy series titled Humour Me. The series will air across digital platforms and Mzansi Magic from the 17th of April to the 24th of April and will be hosted by Ebenhaezer Dibakwane. SA’s finest comedic talent will feature and the list includes Robby Collins, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Lebohang Tlokana, Athi Mgoqo, Khanyisa Madubula, Ayanda Thabethe and Rob van Vuuren.

Can you give us a short introduction to who Khanyisa Madubula is?

I’m Khanyisa Madubula, born and bred in Cape Town. I’m currently residing in Johannesburg and work as a Social Media and Community Manager, stylist at heart and I love the concept that I would one day travel the world doing what I love. I have a colourful personality and so much to offer.

How does it feel to be part of the Jameson Humour Me Series?

It’s one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on, not only because I’m a whiskey drinker, but also because I’ve always loved the brand. It was an amazing team to work with and everything went so smoothly!

How do people react to how you identify in the spaces you live & work in?

People around me are very supportive of everything I do and wish the best for me in everything I do. It is one of the most beautiful and humbling things to witness and be a part of!

Does public perception of Khanyisa affect your creative process and content?

Not at all.

International: Wanda Sykes, Sam Jay, Lavell Crawford, Katt Williams, Kevin Hart. Local: Celeste Ntuli, Loyiso Gola, Khanyisa Bunu, Coconut Kelz and Ebenhaezer.

What gets you up and going every morning?

Knowing I’ve got a goal to reach in terms of my career and life in general. My family is one of the main reasons I wake up every morning and try harder.

If you had to quarantine with any 2 people of your choice for 6 months, who would you choose & why?

Bonang. I genuinely love her work ethic and I’d love to pick her brain.

Viola Davis. Viola was nominated for 3 Academy Awards. She has also got an Oscar under her belt and is also the only black actor to receive the Triple Crown of Acting. She is an amazing talent. A conversation with her would change my life really!

Where would you like to be in your career & personal life in 2026?

Have a show on Netflix, feature in a movie and a series. There is something I’m also cooking up and hopefully, I’ll be able to share the news soon within my career space.

How do you drink your Jameson?

I prefer my Jameson on the rocks but on chilled days a slice of lemon and tonic will do!
