Kim Kardashian and Kanye West land in Ireland for honeymoon

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reportedly arrived in Ireland for a five day honeymoon at a private country estate following their wedding on Saturday. The newlyweds, who were married in front of 200 guests in a sunset ceremony at Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, are said to have flown into Cork via private jet on Sunday afternoon.

A source told the Irish Independent newspaper that the couple, whose 11-month-old daughter North West travelled to Paris with her grandmother, Kris Jenner, today, landed at Cork Airport at 3pm and were met by a “fleet of Mercedes limousines.”

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and her 36-year-old rapper husband are planning to enjoy five days at a “luxury private estate” in the country. The brunette beauty enjoyed a low-key visit to Dublin in June 2012 to help Kanye celebrate his birthday while he was there on tour, and afterwards she wrote on her blog: “I’ve really enjoyed my time in Ireland.”

Her family also previously discussed visiting the country on their reality TV show. The couple were expected to fly to Prague and attend another friend’s nuptials before going on honeymoon. Meanwhile, an insider has revealed that the “New Slaves” hitmaker presented his bride with a custom-made diamond wedding band by Lorraine Schwartz to go with her 15-carat engagement ring.

A source told E! News that the celebrity jeweller also created a simple gold ring for him. Kim walked down the aisle in a full-length white Givenchy gown with lace sleeves, but changed into a short beaded dress by Balmain during their reception.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported during one of his several lengthy speeches at the wedding, Kanye praised the Kardashian family as “the most remarkable people of our time”.

During one 20-minute “public warfare” rant, the opinionated rapper talked about the perks of pitfalls of their celebrity status, saying: “They feel like it’s okay to put you on the tabloid covers to sell your image, to use you in an SNL (Saturday Night Live) spoof. We don’t negotiate. We’re not like that. We’re not stupid. The Kardashians are an industry! At this table…the combination of powers…can make the world a better place. The most remarkable people of our time.”

An insider told UsMagazine.com that the couple’s 200 guests weren’t surprised by Kanye’s decision to speak several times, adding: “We all knew those would be coming. It would have been disappointing if it didn’t happen.”

The “Blood On The Leaves” hitmaker also repeatedly praised his “beautiful” bride, calling her “the ideal celebrity… the ideal art,” and said he was looking forward to “spending every day of my life with Kim.”

The couple, who have 11-month-old daughter North, partied until 2.30am after tying the knot in front of a wall of flowers at sunset. Guests included rappers Common, Big Sean and Tyga.

John Legend serenaded the happy couple at their reception at the 16-century fort, specially decorated with installations by contemporary American artist Vanessa Beecroft. The duo looked besotted with one another as the Grammy Award-winning R&B star performed a cover of the Etta James classic “At Last” for their first dance, according to PEOPLE.com.

Both Kim and Kanye wore custom-made creations by Givenchy, overseen by their good friend Riccardo Tisci, as did baby North, who walked down the aisle with help from her grandmother, Kris Jenner. Armand de Brignac Champagne flowed freely at the white and gold-themed affair, where guests tucked into a menu of chicken, tortellini, salmon and steak, as well as a seven-foot wedding cake.

Noticeably absent from the nuptials was Kanye’s best friend Jay Z, who was expected to be his best man, and wife Beyoncé, as reportedly they opted to spend a quiet weekend in The Hamptons, New York instead.

Shortly before the extravagant wedding got underway, the “XO” singer, 32, who is said to have a “frosty” relationship with Kim, also signalled to fans she wouldn’t be present, as she posted a make-up free photograph of herself in bed on Instagram.

Jay and Beyoncé’s absence came as a surprise, as the rappers have been friends for more than 14 years.

Kanye first came to prominence on the rap mogul’s influential 2001 album ‘The Blueprint’ and they have collaborated many times since then, including on their album Watch The Throne in 2011, which later saw them embark on a sold-out world tour together. Jay Z previously admitted he felt like Kanye’s big brother.

Asked about their decision to tour together, he said: “It actually was really easy because of the relationship. It’s always been a big brother thing and a respect thing.”

Beyoncé took to Instagram to wish the newlyweds “a lifetime of unconditional love”. The 32-year-old singer posted a picture of the couple and their 11-month-old daughter, North, from their recent Vogue spread, with the caption: “Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family.”

Kim’s younger brother Rob Kardashian, 27, also missed the festivities, with insiders telling TMZ.com that he flew back to Los Angeles “in tears” following an argument with the bride on Friday.
