5 Reasons we love our May'26 Africa Month cover star, Kealeboga Masango

While audiences may know Kealeboga Masango for her captivating performances on screen, there’s far more to Kea than acting alone. From exploring music as a deeply personal form of storytelling to embracing her natural beauty journey and reconnecting with her African identity, she continues to evolve into a multi-dimensional creative force both within and beyond the entertainment space.

As GLAMOUR’s May ’26 Africa Month cover star, Kea represents a new generation of African women redefining success on their own terms — balancing artistry, authenticity, ambition and purpose while remaining deeply connected to who they are. Whether she’s advocating for healthier conversations around beauty, pursuing long-term goals beyond entertainment or using her platform to inspire others, her journey reflects a powerful sense of self-awareness and growth.

Here are five reasons we love Kealeboga Masango.

Her talents extend far beyond acting

While many know Kealeboga Masango for her powerful on-screen performances, her creativity doesn’t stop there. With the release of her deeply personal EP earlier this year, Kea stepped into a far more vulnerable artistic space rooted in honesty, emotion and self-expression. While acting allows her to embody different characters and stories, music has become a space where she can express herself more openly and authentically, revealing a version of herself that feels raw, personal and completely unfiltered. Across both creative outlets, her intention remains the same: creating work that makes people feel emotionally seen and understood.

She’s intentional about her hair journey

Kea’s relationship with her hair has evolved alongside her career, especially while navigating the demands of life on set. Working closely with hairstylists who prioritise healthy hair maintenance has allowed her to create space for regular treatments and protective care while still embracing styling versatility and creativity on set.

Her natural hair journey has also been deeply personal. After struggling with a receding hairline that affected her confidence, consistently using the Dark & Lovely Stimulating Serum helped restore both visible hair growth and her comfort in embracing her natural hair again — even in its simplest form.

She proudly embraces her African identity

As GLAMOUR’s Africa Month cover star, Kea speaks passionately about reconnecting with her roots and embracing her identity with intention. Being African remains a deep source of pride, particularly as she continues reconnecting with her Zulu heritage and learning more about herself through that journey. That connection naturally influences her artistry, shaping the way she expresses herself, tells stories and presents herself within the industry.

She wants to make a meaningful impact within the industry

Beyond entertainment, Kea is also passionate about creating long-term change within the creative industry itself. Currently pursuing a law degree — which has temporarily been placed on hold because of work commitments — her long-term goal is to move into entertainment law and help creatives better navigate contracts, understand their rights and feel more protected within the industry. For her, success is equally tied to uplifting and empowering others within the creative space.

Her partnership with Dark & Lovely feels deeply personal

For Kea, becoming a Dark & Lovely ambassador represents far more than a traditional brand partnership. The collaboration reflects both a personal and professional alignment rooted in identity, representation and empowerment. As a proudly Black South African woman, partnering with a brand that actively celebrates and prioritises the beauty, care and confidence of women like her feels especially meaningful.
