1. She’s a qualified speech therapist
Qhawekazi holds a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Therapy from Stellenbosch University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Pretoria, specialising in Autism.
2. She’s passionate about children
Working closely with young patients, she uses her skills to help them overcome communication barriers and reach their full potential.
3. Her impact is purpose-driven
Qhawekazi’s mission is to tackle South Africa’s unemployment crisis by addressing the country’s literacy challenges in the foundation phase.

4. A legacy of excellence runs in the family
Her sister, Hombakazi Mazaleni, paved the way when she made it to the Top 5 at Miss South Africa 2023, inspiring Qhawekazi to follow in her footsteps and claim the crown two years later.

Her children’s book, Amasele Amdaka, written in isiXhosa, was inspired by one of her patients and teaches reading and counting skills, blending education with culture.
