Stogie T’s long-awaited album "Anomy" has finally landed, and South African hip-hop fans are eating it up. Packed with heavyweight features including Thandiswa Mazwai and Maglera Doe Boy, the project is already being hailed as one of his most ambitious bodies of work. But the track that has undeniably stolen the spotlight is the gritty, bar-heavy “Four Horsemen,” a 12-track standout that features three of the country’s most respected rappers and lyricists: Nasty C, Maggz, and A-Reece.
The moment the song dropped, X (formerly Twitter) erupted. As is tradition in the hip-hop scene, the debate over who had the best verse took centre stage, sparking playful chaos across the timeline. Stogie T's no mercy iconic word play, Nasty C’s razor-sharp delivery, A-Reece’s cool and calculated flow, and Maggz’s seasoned punchlines have fans dissecting every bar, line for line. Many users praised Stogie T for orchestrating a rap masterclass, calling the collaboration “historic” and “a reminder of what real lyricism sounds like.” Others highlighted how rare it is to hear these three artists on one track, and how the chemistry exceeded all expectations. Memes, bar breakdowns, and reaction threads continue to circulate, with some fans even declaring the song an early contender for “verse of the year.”
Below, we’ve rounded up some of the most notable reactions dominating X as South Africa and neighbouring countries who follow SA hip hop celebrates one of the strongest hip-hop moments of the year.

Nasty C snapped on that hook, Maggz never disappoints, and A-Reece? Yoh, that flow is too clean, he rides the beat perfectly. And Stogie T Danko pic.twitter.com/inaxYUDmno

Stogie T, Maggz, A-Reece & Nasty C all outdid themselves on that #fourhorsemen joint. 4 elite pens going bar for bar. It also doesn’t sound like thy were trying to body each other. Everyone’s verse elite. Long may this spirit continue. This is real hip hop.

“I’m old McDonald my hard drive is a verse farm”- Nasty C
“A diamond in the rough you soft niggas more like Moissanite”- A-Reece
“Get streams but don’t follow waves, Saint Peter I walked on water, frozen lakes”- Stogie T
“I got the streets lit, see the heat on the map”- Maggz pic.twitter.com/wbzsPN1Tq2
Stogie T simply laid the carpet properly as a legend and left it straight, Maggz cam3 in with the grootman and legend reminder with proper story telling, A-Reece was very direct in terms of attacking on the go but very diss type of rapping then Nasty C just went too smart on it.
