Renowned songstress Zahara has dropped a album titled Nqaba Yam.
The album instantly become a hit with fans as it was trending on Social Media platforms and at number one on Apple music.
The East London born singer penned all the tracks on the album and reunites with longtime producer Mojalefa “Mjakes” Thebe on the production of the album.
The 12-track project sees the singer get raw and real with introspective lyrics which oozes a newfound confidence from the singer.
Zahara delivers some of her best material yet as she takes you through a journey of faith, disappointments and rediscovery.
Zahara has been through a lot in the past few years and says she is now focusing her writing on her life story.
She describes herself as a poet.
“You must check how I’ve been trashed on social media and the papers.”
“There’s nobody who has not suffered from depression or mental illness. But it depends how you channel it. I channel how I feel onto paper,” the singer was quoted as saying.
The Loliwe singer adds that recording the latest offering was challenging as it was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
To celebrate the release, Zahara has chosen ‘Izolo’ as the third single from the project – a song that has quickly become a fan-favourite.
The song is all about forgiveness and the dangers holding grudges can cause in a relationship.
