She began her career as a physical therapist at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York, where she treated patients living at or below the poverty line, before moving into investment banking on Wall Street.

Today, Shafiroff serves on numerous charitable boards, including the New York Women’s Foundation, Southampton Hospital Association, Mission Society of New York City, Casita Maria, the Couture Council of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, the French Heritage Society and Global Strays. She also serves on the Honorary Board of the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, as well as the Advisory Boards of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and Ballet Palm Beach.
Her philanthropic interests are broad, but several causes remain central to her work: women’s rights, healthcare, animal welfare and supporting underserved communities. Over the years, her commitment has earned her numerous honours from charitable organisations.
