Having a good day means starting it off right, according to Gold Series ambassador, Simphiwe Ngema.

“If your day starts off on a bad note, and you are rushing from pillar to post, this sets the tone for the rest of your day,” says Simphiwe.

She adds, “Making sure you are prepared the night before gives you the gift of extra time in the morning.”

No one understands being busy like Simphiwe; not only does she often need to be on set early in the morning, but she also has a burgeoning music career, and her own clothing line in the works.

“Between having to be on set from 6am to 6pm and managing the rest of my interests during lunch time, and then performing at night, I need to be able to manage my time perfectly, while still having a balanced life,” says Simphiwe.

The gorgeous actress is a firm believer in investing in yourself,“because if I don’t, who will,” she says.

Along with this investment, there needs to be a balance between what you must do, what you want to do and what you need to do for you.

By knowing the differences between these three points and managing your time accordingly, you will be able to start your day off the right way which will make a positive impact on your week and so forth.

Simphiwe shares the tips that she lives by; that make her day easier, help her to look after herself and gives her the time to do what she wants:

1. Be prepared for what you know is coming. If you know what tomorrow is going to entail, make sure that you are prepared. This can give you more time, peace-of-mind, and control over what you can manage.

2. Always chase your dreams as though you are running out of time. If you have nothing to aim for then you have nothing to work towards; a purpose in life.

3. Take time out for yourself. This could range from a day off, to a soak in the bath. Looking after yourself is important when it comes to working for what you want. “There are a few daily routines I do just for myself – I exercise, I follow a good skincare routine making sure that I am always camera ready, sunscreen is a must, and I never go anywhere without my mascara and Gold Series perfume – my favourite scent is ‘Gold’ it gives me that bit of everyday luxury,” says Simphiwe.

Personal appearance is always important, no matter what line of work you are in. “If you look good, you will feel good,” Simphiwe adds.

4.Time management is key for everything. Managing your time properly is the only way to make your day work in your favour. Where possible, stick to times allocated, and give yourself 10 minutes extra between appointments. This way if the meeting is running over you have extra time, and if not, you have time to regroup before stepping into the next thing.
