How your fave celebs celebrated Mandela Day

The 18th of July marks a very special day in South Africa. It is a day known as Mandela Day where we celebrate the great life of the father of our nation, the late Nelson Mandela. But it doesn’t end there, we also give 67 minutes of our time to help those in need. Yesterday people from all over the country and some in other parts of the world spent 67 minutes giving back in honour of the Madiba. Here’s a look at how some of our favourite celebrities spent their 67 minutes:

Couldn’t be in South Africa for #MandelaDay but with the help of @MalenahBapela, her mother and @neoclarker we were able to give out 67 school shoes to grade 1-3 learners in Mamelodi today #Shimza❤️🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/7reFdaspEy

My afternoon stop was at Jabulani Khakibos boys home in Berea, and their motto is “Positively impacting the lives of children living and working in the streets.”. The boys age from 8-18yrs and over the last 3 months two boys graduated from Boston College. Their methodology is to intrinsically develop and build the man within, from teaching them when they come back from school how to work with money, budget, life skills and making the right choices for their young lives. At Connect Channel we knitted 100 blankets over the last two months and today it was our blessing to be able to bless and keep the boys warm. We gave the boys haircuts, played soccer and had a meal together. #ConnectCares #ConnectTV #ConnectChannel #BeTheLegacy #Madiba100

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Today was such a beautiful day. Had the pleasure of joining @SHOUTSA and @SteersSA at the opening of their 10th SHOUT Library at Fumisukoma Primary School in Motherwell P.E. and it was magical! Everyday should be #MandelaDay✨🙏🏿✨
