Uncle Waffles announces joint EP "4 Da Streets" with Royal Musiq

Multi-platinum DJ-producer Uncle Waffles is stepping into a bold new era. The global amapiano star has officially announced her forthcoming EP 4 Da Streets, set for release on May 8, 2026, via Encore Recordings, and this time, she’s not doing it alone.

The project arrives as a joint EP with longtime collaborator Royal Musiq, a creative partner who has helped shape some of Waffles’ most defining records, including “Zenzele,” “Wadibusa,” and “Baphi.” Their chemistry has already proven to be a winning formula, blending hypnotic amapiano rhythms with a global-facing sound that continues to travel far beyond South Africa’s borders.

For an artist widely dubbed the “Princess of Amapiano,” 4 Da Streets is more than just a follow-up, it’s a continuation of a carefully built legacy. Waffles has spent the past few years transforming viral momentum into sustained international impact. From a breakout moment in 2021 that catapulted her onto the world stage to performing at major global festivals and becoming one of the genre’s most visible ambassadors, her trajectory has been anything but ordinary .

Her previous EP, 4 Da Ho’s, released in 2024, leaned into high-energy, dancefloor-ready production rooted in amapiano and Bacardi house, featuring collaborators like Royal Musiq and Uncool MC . It was a project that celebrated community, movement, and sonic experimentation—elements that now feel foundational to what comes next.

4 Da Streets builds directly on that momentum. Arriving after her 2026 single “TASTE” and an extensive global tour spanning the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Europe, the EP signals a defining shift. It reflects an artist no longer just emerging, but fully in control of her sound, her reach, and her narrative.

There’s also a deeper cultural weight here. Amapiano, once considered a local subgenre, has evolved into a global sonic language, and Uncle Waffles remains one of its most recognisable exports. Each release doesn’t just expand her catalogue; it stretches the genre’s influence into new territories, new audiences, and new possibilities.

With 4 Da Streets, Waffles and Royal Musiq return to the core: the streets that birthed the sound, the collaborations that sustain it, and the energy that keeps it moving. But this time, the streets are global.
