H&M and Rabanne announce new collaboration with star-studded party

H&M is excited to announce its latest designer collaboration with Rabanne. A trailblazer on the French fashion scene thanks to its late founder Paco Rabanne’s era-defining 1960s creations, since 2013 the fashion house has been reinvigorated by creative director Julien Dossena.

The collection will launch globally on 9 November and be available in South Africa at selected H&M stores and online through Superbalist.

On 2 October, H&M and Rabanne celebrated their forthcoming collaboration with a star-studded guest list of industry insiders at Paris’s legendary Silencio nightclub. The event offered a first look at the Rabanne H&M collection, which includes womenswear, menswear and accessories as well as home decor.

The party opened with an intimate performance by the talented Swedish pop star Robyn who set the tone for the evening. The night continued with the celebrated South Korean DJ and producer Peggy Gou. American singer and actress Cher made a glamorous appearance as a special guest.

Cher, Elle Fanning, Peggy Gou, Robyn, Irina Shayk, Iris Law, Alton Mason, Jared Leto, Damson Idris, Ashley Graham and Tina Kunakey all wore key looks from the high-energy Rabanne H&M collection. Additional guests included South African singer and songwriter Elaine, Amina Muaddi, Tyga, Rianne Van Rompaey, Alexander Edwards, Jade Rabarivelo, Rafael Pavarotti and Issa Perica.

“Rabanne’s metallic dresses are instantly recognisable pieces of fashion history. We’re thrilled to bring a dazzling array of Rabanne designs to our customers with this sensational collaboration,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design womenswear and creative advisor at H&M.

“As a designer, I’ve always been interested in exploring hedonism and empowerment. I was very enthusiastic to work with H&M on a collection that will introduce Rabanne’s avant-garde energy to a wider audience in a democratic way,“ says Julien Dossena, creative director of Rabanne.
