Hot girl winter: the ultimate cosy-glam guide

As the days get colder and darker in Cape Town and Joburg, we enter our new personalities for the next 2 months- hot girl winter. Whether that’s sitting at home watching a comfort movie or strutting it down to dinner wearing a coat that screams ‘main character energy’, winter is your time to glow.

Level up on layering

This winter season is all about elevating and layering your outfits. Think oversized scarves, coats and knits. Pair a statement trench with some baggy trousers or wear a short skirt, stockings and knee high boots for a more elevated look.

Skin revamping

Keep your skin healthy and glowing with nourishing moisturisers, hydrating serums, and SPF (yes, even in winter). You can also amp up your look by adding highlighter and blush to your cheekbones and cheeks for a radiant rosy look. Consider wearing deep berry and brown tones on your lips and eyes to warm up your makeup pallet.

Comfort is key

This season is made for you to glamorise everything. Set the vibe of your home with soft blankets and warm candles to make your space feel cosy. Enjoy some time to yourself by cuddling under a blanket and watching a movie or pick up a new stimulating hobby. This could be anything from knitting to puzzles or even cooking.

During this winter, being glamorous means taking care of yourself and enjoying the quiet. Being a 'hot girl' means protecting your peace and showing up for yourself, that includes you doing nothing in your fluffiest robe.
