The bald and the beautiful

Shaving your hair off has become a Hollywood rite of passage. From Natalie Portman to Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus, the list of celeb style fans is endless. If you’re feeling brave enough to jump on the bandwagon, here’s what you need to know:

Cara Delevingne

If you’ve lived your whole life with your face framed by a curtain of hair, it’s understandable that you might not know the shape of your head. Get a feel for it by examining your head for any lumps or bumps, then tie your hair back as tightly as possible to give yourself an idea of what you could look like. Remember, once your hair is gone, it’s GONE – so make sure you’re 100% confident in your decision.

Amandla Stenberg

Yes, maintaining short hair is a lot easier than long, but it does come with its own set of challenges. Once your scalp is completely exposed to the elements, you’ll want to make sure it’s protected come rain or shine. Invest in hats and beanies to guard against the cold, and apply a high SPF on sunny days.

Adwoa Aboah

Depending on how fast your hair grows, you may need to visit a hair stylist every two weeks in order to keep your desired length. Budget for this consistently, and you’ll always look neat and on point.

Amber Rose

Because your hair will be so short, any dandruff that might accumulate will be far more obvious – so make sure to take care of your hair and your scalp for a clean, flake-free look.

Kristen Stewart

Once you shave your head you may be shocked at how drastically your appearance will change. Keep in mind that this will take some getting used to. Also, prepare yourself for other people’s reactions – many of which could be less than positive. Just keep your cool and rock your new ‘do with confidence.
