How to get your eyeshadow to stay put

Ever spent ages doing your eye make up for a party, only to have it all sitting on your cheeks a few hours later? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered this holiday season.

The key to a long lasting eye shadow look is the layers. Combining different textures will ensure your make up lasts as long as you do.

You’ll need:

Eye shadow brush (we love our MAC 217 Blending Brush, R300)

An eyelid primer

Your choice of cream AND powder eye shadows

- Start by priming your lids with an eyelid primer. We are in love with the Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer, R395. Give it a few minutes to set before moving on.

- Now you can start adding colour. Apply your cream shadow first and blend it over your whole lid, up to the crease.

- Finally apply your powder shadow over the top. The idea is that the cream formula will stick to the primer and the powder will stick to the cream, giving you the best possible staying power.
