Our favourite Chanel fragrance ambassadors of the century

When Chanel released the news that actress Lily-Rose Depp would be the face of their fragrance Chanel No.5 L’EAU, we couldn’t wait to fill our senses with the classic scent. And what better way to celebrate a new fragrance than with a chart of our favourite Chanel fragrance brand ambassadors?

The Australian star was simply stunning in the romantic Baz Luhrmann-directed video and she’s equally gorgeous on the red carpet and print campaigns.

As alluring as the fragrance itself, French actress Anna Mouglalis has also appeared in commercials for Chanel handbags and fine jewellery, and portrayed Coco Chanel in the César Award nominated film Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky.

The exquisite face of Coco Mademoiselle, Keira Knightly appears in print ads shot by the legendary Mario Testino and in a James Bond-inspired commercial directed by Joe Wright – he has also directed Keira in the films Pride & Prejudice, Atonement and Anna Karenina

French actress Audrey Tautou, who charmed viewers as Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel in the film Coco Before Chanel, starred in the campaign for the fragrance set aboard the luxury train Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

Brad Pitt Chanel No.5 (2012)

The first male to endorse the iconic fragrance, the Hollywood actor stars in the ad shot by Joe Wright – who previously directed Keira’s Coco Mademoiselle. For Brad’s ad, Joe took artistic inspiration from French surrealist poet Paul Éluard for the campaign.

Gisele and Michiel Huisman (who plays Dario Naharis in the TV show  Game of Thrones) play lovers in the commercial shot by director Baz Luhrmann, set to musician Lo-Fang’s beautiful rendition of ‘The one that I want’ from the film Grease.

A print and TV commercial shot by Jean-Paul Goude (he filmed an ad in 1992 featuring singer and actress Vanessa Paradis for the Chanel fragrance Coco), the campaign stars models Cindy Bruna, Rianne van Rompaey, Romy Schonberger and Sigrid Agren as a group of friends having a chic bowling experience with the fragrance bottles used as pins and bowling balls.

She has style and talent in her genes and her mother, the iconic Vanessa Paradis, is a longtime friend of the brand, so who better than the beautiful actress and model Lily-Rose Depp to be the face of the sparkling, fresh and sexy Chanel No.5 L’EAU?
