The MTV Video Music Awards is ALWAYS one of the most exciting (and controversial) awards shows of the year – and 2015 definitely didn’t disappoint! So, how did Miley Cyrus hold up taking the show over this year? And what about those much-hyped performances from Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, and others? Here are our top 5 moments from the show:
1 Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” Video
This may be Taylor’s sexiest video yet (we’re pretty sure Scott Eastwood has something to do with that…) Have you watched it yet? Take a look:
2 Nicki Minaj’s Performance
Nicki’s performance was already one for the history books and then Taylor joined her on stage to sing “The Night Is Still Young” and “Bad Blood” (remember, they had a Twitter fallout earlier this year?). Does this mean their “feud” is over?
3 The Weeknd’s Performance
FYI – it’s The Weeknd not The Weekend. There’s a reason Kanye was dancing so hard during this performance – it was. So. Good.
4 Justin Bieber’s Performance
The Biebs is back! We predict that both “Where Are U Now” and “What Do You Mean?” are going to be hits. His performance and premiere of his new video was a big comeback, but we did NOT expect him to cry(and there are already memes)!
Oh, and… does any one think Justin looks like a ’90s Nick Carter from The Backstreet Boys thanks to his new ‘do?
5 Kanye West’s Speech
We knew we were off to a good start when Taylor Swift herself introduced Kanye for his Video Vanguard award with the lines: “Imma let you finish…but Kanye West has had one of the greatest careers of ALL TIME!” Kanye took the stage and launched into a lengthy speech, closing it with an announcement that he wants to run for president in 2020. Then he literally dropped the mic.
And the worst moment…
Miley Cyrus’ crazy selfie. Umm, didn’t Ellen do this move first, why copy it?
And let’s not forget Miley’s wardrobe malfunction…
