Cameron Diaz: Drew Barrymore rumour made me sick

Cameron Diaz wanted to “vomit in her mouth” at the thought of sleeping with Drew Barrymore because it would have been like “having sex with her sister”.

The Sex Tape actress – who admitted earlier this year she had “been with a lady” – was horrified when she was directly asked if she had been intimate with her close friend.

She said: “Some media outlet called for a comment and they wanted to know whether I was with Drew. Literally, I said, ‘That makes me want to vomit in my mouth. That’s like saying I’m having sex with my sister. Are you crazy? I wouldn’t even ménage with her!”

Cameron’s admission triggered a lot of speculation, but she tried not to pay it too much attention. She said: “I don’t even pay attention. People will always speculate. People like scandal. They like to put a label on something that they don’t understand. It makes them feel comfortable. Mostly they like to guess who it could be.”

The 41-year-old beauty admits she has been experimental in her sex life, and though she doesn’t want to share too many details, she doesn’t want to appear horrified by anything as she wouldn’t want to “shame” anyone else.

She explained to America’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “Everybody tries things and sees things and checks them out, and either walks away or walks further in. It’s life — it’s what people do. I’m not going to tell people what I’ve done, but I’m also not going to say, ‘No! I would never!’ If I said that, I’d be shaming myself and shaming other people’s choices. I don’t want to add any stigma to someone’s choice.”

Cameron also admittedd that children can catch their parents “off guard” with certain questions and that everyone can relate to her new movie Sex Tape.

She insisted her new raunchy comedy is actually “really relatable” for people with kids because her on-screen daughter Giselle Eisenberg poses the kind of deep questions every parent will recognise.

She told E! News: “It is real, it’s really relatable. Giselle has a hilarious scene in the movie where she talks about, you know, what is this all about where we go to sleep and we get up again, like ‘when is this going to end?!’ And kids can really ask those questions that take you off guard as an adult and you have to think about those moments like, right, you’re a kid, you don’t really understand what this is about.”

Cameron – who doesn’t have any kids of her own – added that despite having to give the answers to their children, even adults don’t really “know what it’s about” yet.

She said: “I think as an adult you still don’t know what it’s about … I think that’s what’s really fun about this movie. It’s so relatable. People who have kids are going to watch it and go oh my god, that’s that kind of question my kids ask!”
