Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are frequently cited as #couplegoals, and for good reason. Remember that beautiful no-makeup selfie he posted of her last week? Or that time she danced with him on stage at his New York concert? But like all relationships, they too have had some bumps along the way.
In a new interview with The Guardian, John confessed that he tried breaking up with Chrissy 11 years ago. Chrissy, however, wasn’t having any of it and simply denied the request. Their “breakup” only lasted an hour and a half, so we’re not sure if we can even label it that.
“I was really stressed and busy,” he explained. “I was just like: ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like: ‘No.’” In Chrissy’s own words, “It wasn’t a typical breakup. He was on tour and his voice hurt and he was being a whiny face about everything and so yeah, I was like ‘no'”

This is definitely a testament to how strong John and Chrissy’s relationship is (and was), not to mention how well the two understood one another so early on. Chrissy was able to call John’s bluff—and look how far they’ve come since then. Together they’ve shared his multiple Grammy wins, her GLAMOUR cover, some very flirty tweets and texts, and the biggest moment of all: the birth of their adorable little nugget, Luna. Can you even imagine a world without baby Luna? No, no you cannot.
