Gisele Bündchen to hand out FIFA World Cup trophy

Gisele Bündchen will hand out the FIFA World Cup 2014 golden trophy to the winning team at the closing ceremony.

The 33-year-old model has been chosen to stand in for Brazil’s president Dilma Rousseff, who has been the target of abuse due to the huge expense incurred from hosting the tournament, to present the golden prize to the winning team at the official closing ceremony on July 13, according to the Boston Globe newspaper.

The Brazilian beauty will reportedly be joined by her husband Tom Brady – with whom she has five-year-old son Benjamin and two-year-old daughter Vivian – at the event, which will take place at the Maracana Mário Filho Stadium in Rio de Janeiro and feature performances from Avicii, Carlos Santana and Wyclef. Gisele, who was born in Três de Maio, divides her time between Boston, New York and Los Angeles, where she and Tom have just sold their eco-friendly mansion for a reported R431 million.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez, 44, kicked off the international football tournament on June 12 when she took to the stage with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte to sing the official FIFA song “We Are One (Ole Ola)”. However, it was initially unclear whether the “On The Floor” hitmaker would be performing her set on the night after she pulled out days before the event due to unspecified “production issues.”

Although, the brunette beauty, who recently split from her long-term boyfriend Casper Smart, soon had a change of heart as she didn’t want to disappoint her fans.
