Kanye West has revealed he first proposed to Kim Kardashian seven years ago.
The ‘Clique’ hitmaker, who previously admitted he fell in love with the reality TV star long before they started dating in 2012, has suggested he originally asked his now-wife to marry him while she was still in a serious relationship with NFL star Reggie Bush and he was engaged to his former fiancée Alexis Phifer.
The 37-year-old rapper told the crowd during his performance at London’s Wireless Festival on Friday night, “I told Kim seven years ago I would marry her and I made it happen.”
He added: “I just wanted to make something awesome and be awesome and change the world, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.”
Kim dated Reggie for three years from 2007 to 2010, while Kanye started dating designer Alexis in 2002 and got engaged to her in 2006, before ending their relationship in 2008.
The couple, who have 12-month-old daughter North (and another baby coming soon, if Kim’s hunch proves correct), tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Florence, Italy in May after getting engaged in San Francisco on Kim’s 33rd birthday in October, and Kanye previously admitted during an interview with Ryan Seacrest: “I just knew I wanted her to be my girl for a long time. I remember I saw a picture of her and Paris Hilton, and I remember telling my boy, ‘Have you seen that girl Kim Kar-dijon?'”.
