Kim K the humanitarian

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has donated $50 000 (R402 000) to The Trevor Project, which facilitates suicide prevention among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender teenagers. The gorgeous celeb raised the funds in New York City in September 2011, where she was put to work on the trading floor of financial services company, Cantor Fitzgerald. Speaking out on her blog, Kim said, “The firm lost more than 600 employees in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001 and on the 10th anniversary of the attacks they donated all revenues from their trades to charities around the world! I was honoured to take part!”

Other celebs to help out with The Trevor Project include actors Kevin McHale and Daniel Radcliffe and singer Adam Lambert. Last month, Lady Gaga was awarded the HERO Award by the Trevor organisation at their annual Trevor Live event and as a true humanitarian, who’s always up for helping a good cause, she gushed saying, ”This means more to me than any Grammy I could ever win”. Bless her big heart!

It’s always good to see celebs giving back, and after the year Kim K’s had, this is a good way to kick off 2012!
