Miley Cyrus gets a new puppy

Miley Cyrus has adopted a new Rough Collie puppy named Emu Coyne, just three months after her beloved Alaskan Klee Kai Floyd passed away.

The 21-year-old singer welcomed the new pup into her large family of dogs earlier this week, but insists he won’t ever replace Floyd, who passed away in April.

The ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker shared a cute snap of her pet pooch cuddling up to her on Instagram, which she accompanied with caption: “Time to start making Emu accounts smilers. He’s here and here to stay. I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago. Been keepin him a secret cause sometimes I’m weird like that. It’s taken some time to be ready for this next step and loving again. There will never be anyone like Floyd. There was a bond that was so deep it’s irreplaceable but that’s not what I am trying to do. Never will I replace Floyd and that’s something I had to take time to understand. We had a very special memorial service for Floyd and I felt my angel Floydy give Emu his blessing. I prayed to Floyd to just give him a touch of his awesomeness and he has. He is so special and different than my baby Floyd and I think Floyd did that on purpose (sic).”

The blonde beauty proved her new furry friend had settled in to his new home as she later posted another photograph of her showering with Emu.

However, following the passing of Floyd – who was killed by a coyote three months ago – Miley was gifted a little puppy named Mooney by her mother Tish Cyrus, but she decided to have the four-legged creature re-homed as she felt it was too soon to care for a new pet.

Meanwhile, Emu joins Miley’s three other canines, Mary Jane, a Pitt Bull, Happy, a Rottweiler-Beagle cross, and Bean, a Chihuahua mix.

Miley also spent Sunday making beaded necklaces to decorate a shrine devoted to Floyd. She shared photos of her work on Instagram, which included a black and white design spelling out Floyd.

The “Wrecking Ball” singer wrote on the picture sharing site: “Making Floyd jewlzzzzz all day.” In another caption she said: “I can make wealllly pwetttttty jewelry & faces”.

Miley shared a snap of the shrine and thanked her fans for sending their own “powerful” tributes to the late pup.

She said: “Thank you to everyone for making my Floyd shrine so beautiful and special. The energy around the alter is so powerfully full of love.” He is so loved and loves you all right back. Without you I would never have these beautiful Floyd stuffed animals that make me happy everyday cause I can hold him… these flowers remind me of his wittle soul.”
