Pamela Mtanga, one of South Africa’s leading media voices, co-hosted the 67th Miss South Africa pageant this past Saturday alongside Nomalanga Shozi, earning widespread acclaim from audiences, celebrities, and peers across the country. The prestigious event, held at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, was yet another powerful milestone in what has become a defining year for Mtanga.
From her poised delivery to her natural chemistry with the crowd, Pamela’s performance was a standout moment, and social media didn’t hesitate to say so. The hashtag #MissSA2025 quickly trended, with fans and viewers calling for her return as the main host in 2026. One viral post read, “Pamela Mtanga should definitely be the main host next year. She is killing it and her energy is on point.” Another simply said, “So flawless.” Even industry peers joined in, including Sphaka Ngonyama, who recalled auditioning Pamela for her first major TV gig on Massive Music, writing: “Your growth is wow. Well done on the amazing job you did last night.”
“I’ve hosted many stages over the years, but Miss South Africa was different,” said Pamela Mtanga. “This was a moment I saw for myself long before it happened. It was surreal to finally stand on that stage, not just as a presenter, but as someone who deeply understands what this platform means to the country. I’m so grateful I got to be part of this new era.”
he Miss South Africa moment comes at the peak of an already monumental year for Pamela. She was recently crowned Style Influencer of the Year at Glamour’s Most Glamorous 2025, hosted the inaugural TikTok Top Creator Awards, and led key events including the Vitality Discover Awards, DSTV Delicious, and the Crème of Nature SA Launch. Her role as lifestyle ambassador for Adidas South Africa and partnerships with Brutal Fruit and other prominent brands continue to expand her reach across fashion, lifestyle and culture.
“During my varsity career, 80% of the events I hosted were pageants as Nelson Mandela University had a very vibrant pageant culture,” Pamela added. “Since then, I never stopped dreaming about the Miss South Africa Stage. I believe what is meant for me will never miss me therefore I do not manifest particular stages, I just work towards them. But this particular stage is an exception and to see it come to life is something out of a movie. This was my introduction year as we were led by a fantastic host in Nomalanga, but I believe there’s more to come.”
Shingai Darangwa, Pamela’s longtime manager at Punchline Projects, added, “This was more than just another event, it was a coronation of the last ten years. To see her being affirmed by both the industry and the public in real time is powerful. She has earned every moment of this.”
Pamela also recently launched her podcast, My Audio Journal, offering listeners a more personal and introspective look into her journey and the layered conversations shaping womanhood, creativity and ambition. The show is the latest addition to a growing media portfolio that reflects Pamela’s range and vision. The most recent episode, released on the eve of Miss SA, featured award-winning rapper Nasty C.
“My Audio Journal has become such a safe space: for me and for the people listening. That conversation with Nasty C reminded me how much power there is in honest storytelling,” said Pamela. “Every episode is like a pitstop with someone whose story makes you pause and think. From Nasty C to Tebby Leburu to Oyisa, these aren’t just interviews, they’re honest, human moments that make you feel seen or stretched.”
