Stylist Rachel Zoe has admitted she never goes without lipstick despite the rest of her makeup regime being very basic.
The stylist to the stars’ mother taught her at a young age that a bright lip will add drama to any outfit and she never leaves the house without it, even though she is a tomboy at heart and is normally low maintenance about her makeup routine.
She said, “My mom taught me very young I have 10,000 lipsticks. [Colour] depends on my mood… On one hand I am this weird androgynous tomboy where I’m strangely low maintenance and have a five-minute makeup regimen.
“On the other I’m obsessed with all things beauty, from skin care to makeup.”
Entrepreneur Rachel opened a lavish New York hair salon called DreamDry last month, surpassing expectations by booking over 3,000 appointments by the end of February, and she now plans to open several more luxury salons across the US.
The trend-setting star – whose clients include Cameron Diaz, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson – is looking at new ways to make a profit out of her passions and is also eyeing up fragrance and eye makeup deals.
She added in an interview with WWD, “I really set out to be a good stylist, and since that time 15 years ago, I’ve been making businesses out of my passions and what I love.
“I’ve been working with clothes and hair and makeup, and making a business out of [those elements] to me is a logical direction to go. But at the same time it hasn’t been a plan… I would do make-up. I would do fragrance. I’m a fragrance fanatic.”
