Rita Ora escapes death after ‘Barbie’ car crash

Rita Ora and Charli XCX cheated death after crashing their “deathtrap Barbie truck”.

The Break the Rules hitmaker – whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison – said that she came close to killing herself and the 24-year-old singer when she crashed their truck during the Doing It music video shoot.

She said: “I nearly killed both of us on the set by crashing this Barbie truck into the middle of the desert. There were no air bags. It was this old truck. It was a death trap! But we made it out alive and the video is so great and is dropping this week.”

While the pair both avoided death, surviving without serious injury, Charli, is confident that Rita will “kill it” in her big screen debut in next month’s Fifty Shades Of Grey movie, in which she plays titular character Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) adopted sister Mia.

She added to Metro newspaper: “She is going to kill it. On the [ Doing It] set we had to do one bit of acting and I was freaking out, like, ‘I don’t know how to do this,’ but every time she was killing it.

“She is great and I think she’s going to be wonderful.”

Rita’s song Grateful from the romantic/drama film Beyond the Lights picked up an Oscar nomination – which was technically awarded to writer Diane Warren – and whether the tune triumphs or not at the Academy Awards the blonde stunner is in for a big night as she has signed up to perform at the ceremony.
