We hate to be the bearers of bad news… but it seems that the third instalment of Sex and The City isn’t happening after all.
It turns out that the Instagram photo that caused all the hype yesterday was in reference to another secret project that Sarah Jessica Parker is busy working on.
SJP captioned the pic: “Well. I guess the cat’s out of the (little brown) bag. As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I’m under strict gag order until then.”
Warner Bros. have said that a third film is nowhere near development. “The post is not in relation to the Sex and the City property,” the studio confirmed to E! News. We can only guess that SJP is working on another shoe line or something equally fashionable.
We’re still crossing our fingers for a SATC 3 film though!
Back in February 2014, Director Michael Patrick King told EW: “Sarah Jessica and I both know what that final chapter is. That doesn’t mean it will or should be told, but I do think there’s one story left. Whether it ever happens is a whole other situation. But there’s four girls, and those girls are still in my mind. There are other stories to tell and characters that haven’t even been written yet.”
