Stop Right Now: The Spice Girls are reportedly going back on tour

Today is February 7, 2018. It’s a Wednesday, and Wednesdays are typically boring—but not today. Today is a magical day.  Why you ask? Because news just broke that the Spice Girls—all five of them—are reportedly embarking on a U.S. and U.K. reunion tour. STOP what you’re doing RIGHT NOW, and keep reading (THANK YOU VERY MUCH), because nineties-you deserves to bask in this information. (Do you see what I just did there?)

OK, so the Spice Girls haven’t confirmed the news themselves, but TMZ has the scoop: The outlet reports Mel B., Victoria Beckham, Mel C., Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell connected with their former manager, Simon Fuller, last week and developed a “rough plan” for this tour, which is supposedly going to kick off in late summer. Remember that photo the Spice Girls posted to Instagram a few days ago?  This is the story behind it—well, according to TMZ, at least.

The source tells TMZ the women plan to kick off the tour in England and then move things to the United States. There are no plans to record new music or do some kind of Las Vegas residency, but honestly, who needs those things? Beggars can’t be choosers, and we’re pretty desperate for a Spice Girls reunion in any capacity. TMZ also reports Victoria Beckham was the last person to get on board with this idea, which, who knows if that’s true? And frankly, who cares? All the women are apparently on board now, which is what matters. (Because there’s no way that G.E.M. concept was going to fly.)

I honestly don’t even know what to do with myself right now. Laugh? Cry? Take out a loan for tickets? Run around my office screaming “zig-a-zig-ah” at random people? All of the above? Friendship never ends, my friends and neither does the music.
