On 22 October 2016, the continent’s brightest stars came out to shine at the MTV Africa Music Awards held at the TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg.
The premier music event, in its sixth year, honours and celebrates African music and achievement. Hosted by Bonang Matheba and supported by Nomzamo Mbatha and Yemi Alade, the ladies looked drop dead gorgeous as they kept the night’s events running smoothly.

Nigerian pop sensation WizKid took top honours, walking away with three awards, including Best Male and Artist of the Year. South African favourites Cassper Nyovest and Emtee won awards for Best Live and Best Hip Hop, respectively. Shekhinah and Kyle Deutsch scored gold in Best Pop/Alternative.
Another highlight of the night included South African jazz legend and Grammy Award winner, Hugh Masekela, taking to the stage to accept the Legend Award for his enduring and remarkable contribution to the music industry.
