Gert-Johan Coetzee is bringing more of his world to Johannesburg. The South African designer has opened his first retail boutique at the Winifred Mandela Precinct at Nicolway Shopping Centre in Bryanston, giving shoppers the chance to browse and buy his collections in person.
The new space brings together the designer’s signature gowns and ready-to-wear pieces with accessories, leather goods and his recently launched fragrance collection. There’s also a selection of limited-edition pieces and merchandise created specifically for the Bryanston store.
Inside, the clothes take centre stage. Sculptural pieces are displayed throughout the marble-clad space, with aubergine accents adding colour to the otherwise pared-back interior. The result is a boutique that feels more like an extension of the Gert-Johan Coetzee aesthetic than a traditional shop.
For the first time, the designer’s Ndlovu handbags are also available to shop in-store, alongside the full fragrance collection.
And if you prefer a more personal approach to shopping, private appointments are available. Clients can book time at the boutique for a one-on-one experience, whether they’re looking for a special occasion dress, browsing the latest collection or choosing from the brand’s accessories.
“Establishing a physical home for our design universe is a dream come true,” says Coetzee. “Every detail of this boutique, from the garments on display to the architectural surfaces surrounding them, has been curated with meticulous care.”

The boutique is located at the Winifred Mandela Precinct at Nicolway Shopping Centre, on the corner of Winnie Mandela Drive and Wedgewood Link Road in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
It’s open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00, and Sunday and public holidays from 09:00 to 15:00.

The boutique also marked its opening with a fragrance activation, where shoppers could discover and test the designer’s new perfume collection.
The store’s marble surfaces were supplied by Interslab, bringing another layer of texture and craftsmanship to the space.
