Winter is officially upon us and one of the best things about it is the excitement of purchasing a new pair of boots. The current shoe trend for the season is undoubtedly the combat boot which, if we are totally honest, has been around since the F/W19 runway shows. But we all know how 2020 turned out, so we’ll pretend that it’s something new:)
Since Prada unveiled their combat style military boot every celebrity and influencer sported these on the streets. Could Prada see into the future what the year 2020 would be? Could this also be a big F@#% you to the times we are living in? Some people even described this trend as apocalyptic footwear. Whatever your consensus, the fact is that these boots feel like a piece of armour, fueling bad girl vibes ready to tackle anyone daring to mess with you. Lara Croft anyone?
Styling these boots is fun! If we think back to the 90’s and 2000’s these types of boots (hello Dr.Martens) were worn with mini check skirts or mom jeans. And if that's your vibe cool but why not take inspiration from the runways by styling these with a very feminine lace dress as evidenced on the Prada runway or even a more formal tweed look.
Or take inspiration from Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid by pairing it with a blazer and high waisted straight leg jeans.
