Time has always been a quiet teacher. It’s not loud or boastful, but it holds the power to shift perspectives, soften edges, and bring clarity to chaos. For Nadia Jaftha, who graces our cover for the second time, time has become more than just hours on a clock, it's become energy, awareness, and an act of self-preservation.

When Glamour last sat down with the content creator, creative entrepreneur, and all-round digital darling, she was moving at full speed; chasing dreams, launching brands, holding space for her community. And while much of that remains true, today, there's a noticeable shift. A softness. A grounded energy that mirrors the intention behind her latest collaboration with Huawei, for the launch of their newest smartwatch, a sleek device built around balance, wellness, and living more mindfully.

“Timing is everything, right?” Nadia shares, nestled on set between outfit changes and makeup touch-ups. “I’ve been focusing a lot on slowing down, finding balance and actually being present. This collaboration with Huawei came at a point where that’s exactly what I want my life to reflect, so it felt less like a campaign and more like an extension of my lifestyle, if that makes sense?”

A Watch That Moves With You

In a world that celebrates the hustle and applauds exhaustion, being present feels like a rebellious act. But for Nadia, it's non-negotiable, especially in the season she’s in now.

“I used to measure time by how much I could squeeze into a day,” she says. “But now I see time more as energy. I focus on what matters. Some seasons call for the grind and others call for slowing down, and I’ve learned to respect both.”

With its intuitive features from sleep tracking and stress monitoring to activity reminders and stylish functionality; the Huawei Watch has become a gentle co-pilot in her everyday life. Her favourite feature? “The sleep tracking surprised me the most. It made me realise how much my rest impacts everything else. It’s such a simple feature, but it changed my outlook on recovery and balance.” The emotional and physical toll of constantly being “on”, especially in the public eye, has led her to redefine success not by output, but by peace. “For me, self-care right now looks a lot like boundaries & saying no when I need to, resting without guilt, and creating space for the people and things that recharge me.”

The watch, she says, supports that in subtle but meaningful ways. “It keeps me present by reminding me to slow down because I can really forget and get burnout. So it just reminds me to breathe, move or just rest. In this season of my life, balance is everything.”

More Than a Look

Though the campaign is rooted in wellness, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 doesn’t compromise on style , something that resonates with Nadia’s approach to fashion, “I love that it blends in effortlessly. It feels more like an accessory than a gadget, so I can wear it from a workout straight into a meeting or dinner and it still feels like me!” She laughs, adding, “It’s a statement on its own! Can’t forget that!”

Long-Distance Bonds & Grounded Friendships

The campaign also sees her paired with actress and media personality Ntando Duma;  a nod not just to star power, but to sisterhood. Their friendship is the kind that exists just as fully offline as it does in the public eye. “She lives in Joburg so ours is very much a long-distance friendship. We see each other when we can & check in quite often! What people don’t always realise is that we keep a big part of our friendship offline so they don’t really see how close we are. I was even a bridesmaid at her wedding. I’ve learnt so much from her and she keeps me grounded, that’s what makes our bond feel so solid no matter the distance.”

What keeps their connection intact, even across cities and life stages, is mutual understanding. “We’ve definitely been in different phases at different times, but I think that’s what makes the friendship strong; we don’t force each other to be in the same place. We just support where the other person is.” And even in the busiest of seasons, they find ways to show up. “Honestly, friendship takes effort. Life gets so busy that sometimes you blink and realize you haven’t seen your people in months. So I’ve learned it’s about being intentional with a quick call, a voice note, or a random selfie.”

Ntando Rambani

“Time Is Priceless”

There are seasons in a woman’s life when everything shifts; quietly, powerfully, and all at once. For Ntando Rambani, this season has been exactly that. Newly married, recently a mother of two, and in the middle of building an empire that spans entertainment, beauty, and business, Ntando is learning that success is no longer about being everywhere at once. It’s about being right here, in the moment. So when the opportunity to collaborate with Huawei on the launch of their latest GT 6 smartwatch arrived, it wasn’t just well-timed,it was aligned. “Launching this collaboration came at a moment when my life slowed down and sped up all at once,” Ntando reflects. “I’m newly married and a mother of two, so managing my energy has become non‑negotiable. The GT 6’s long battery life and health‑insight features felt like tools made for this season, helping me stay present while balancing work and motherhood.”

A Healthier, Happier Pace

Through the lens of motherhood, time takes on a different texture. It slows in the soft moments, and accelerates in the chaos but the meaning deepens either way. “In my twenties, I equated busyness with success,” she admits. “Now I pay attention to my body. The watch’s TruSleep system tracks deep, light, and REM sleep and nudges me when my stress levels spike. That data reminds me to rest, breathe, and make room for family time rather than filling every gap with work.” Time well spent, in this chapter, looks quieter but infinitely more fulfilling. “These days it’s less about productivity and more about nourishment,” she says. “Time well spent is having mother-daughter time with Sbahle, feeding our newborn, and spending quality time with my husband.”

A Watch That Moves With You

Much like Ntando, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 is about balance in motion. It offers high-tech wellness features in a beautifully sleek frame, making it the kind of tool that supports women in real life, not just in theory. “There’s many features to choose from,” she says, “but what stands out is that it looks sleek and it’s very lightweight. I almost forget I have a smart device on my wrist until I can conveniently answer calls. That, coupled with the long battery life, means I can live a full life without worrying about charging often.” It’s a companion that not only complements her full schedule, but enhances her quieter rituals too. “The emotional‑health feature has to be it,” she says, with a thoughtful pause. “The watch identifies different emotional states and pairs them with personalised insights. It taught me to pause when I’m feeling overwhelmed and helped improve my sleep by analysing breathing and REM cycles.”

Style, Seamlessly Integrated

Even at her busiest, Ntando doesn’t compromise on style. Whether she’s in glam or off-duty mode, the watch meets her there. “I like the fact that it doesn’t look like a typical smart or fitness watch,” she notes. “I’ve got the black GT6 and it effortlessly blends in with my outfits, whether I’m all glammed up or cozy at home.” This mix of form and function makes the GT 6 less of a gadget and more of a personal statement, one that fits seamlessly into Ntando’s lifestyle, and fashion-forward identity.

Intentional Living, One Notification at a Time

Juggling motherhood, a career, and a thriving business isn’t a balancing act, it’s a series of conscious decisions made in micro-moments. And for Ntando, tech should support that process, not add to the noise. “Juggling a business, two kids and my career means constant interruptions,” she explains. “The GT 6 helps me filter what’s urgent: notifications arrive on my wrist, but I can switch to ‘Do Not Disturb’ and be present in the moment. Its health cloverleaf reminds me to move, rest, and check in with my mood.” This presence is something she also values deeply in her friendships, especially with her Huawei campaign co-star and long-time friend, Nadia Jaftha. “Nadia and I share a deep understanding that transcends professional and personal boundaries,” Ntando says. “We're always there for each other, no matter what life throws our way. It's comforting to know that despite distance or differing circumstances, we can rely on each other for support and guidance.”
