The global community is in mourning following the death of award-winning rapper SA, Kiernan Forbes, affectionately known as AKA.
The late musician who was scheduled to perform in Durban as part of his birthday celebrations was gunned down outside WISH Restaurant on Florida road, on Friday night.
Fans of the late rapper AKA, are still reeling from shock and are trying to come to terms with his untimely death as more information comes to light. CCTV footage doing the rounds on social media reveals how the rapper was shot at close range just moments after embracing his long time friend and ex manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. Unfortunately Tibz was also caught in the crossfire; although AKA died on the scene, it’s been reported that Tibz was alive when the paramedics arrived and succumbed to cardiac arrest inside the restaurant.
It’s been a sombre weekend in South Africa following the news, and fans have taken to social media to pay their tributes.
I remember when he defended South Africa back in 2018 against Burna Boy and other African artists who called South Africa xenophobic, he risked it all and stood his ground.
