The ladies had a chance to sit down and rehash their drama. The spotlight was on the friendship dynamics amongst the group but not before Londie’s pregnancy reveal. The songstress was glowing in green and the ladies were amazed as she shared that she was pregnant throughout the season.

Just moments into the reunion, a usually reserved Thobile calls LaConco out for being fake, and Nonku takes the opportunity to express the same sentiments. Recounting incidents when LaC would speak ill of the women only to smile in their faces and call them “sweerie” (a term of endearment). Her friendship with Londie is also questioned, as the two were close but seem to have drifted due to LaC’s secrecy. The housewives have expressed on different occasions that they don’t feel safe around LaC because they don’t know much about her except what she tells them, even questioning the validity of the information she’s shared with them.

The spotlight shifts to Annie who has a strained relationship with Nonku. Unpacking her “liking Nonku is tricky statement,” she explains that it’s been a journey with from season 1, “we were a little closed off to each other and I think what happened at the previous reunion just really touched me a lot, so after that happened, I couldn’t open up or connect with you because that was always in the back of my head but then you opened up…” further explaining that this is the reason she warmed up to Nonku, and clarifies that she respects her because she owns herself and her truth. Donovan turns his attention to Nonku, and asks what she likes about Annie. Nonku says she thinks Annie is very fragile, “I think she just puts up this tiger of a person because she’s protective of her surroundings, and she always says she respects people who are honest and truthful. We are the same with that, and she wants to know where she stands with a person. I really believe that deep down her soul, she loves me.” To which Annie responds with laughter. Donovan prompts the girls for a summary, and both agree that it’s a love/hate relationship.

Sorisha unexpectedly interjects the moment to add that when she first met Annie, she wasn’t instantly drawn to her, “when I first met her in season 1, I really thought, this is not my cup of tea. I really didn’t see Annie as my friend at all, we were halfway through the season, driving back from a long trip and she told me in confidence, of the time she travelled to London and studied there as a little girl, she was bullied a lot because of her ethnic hair etc. She was really picked on and it was a big deal for her. I feel her power because she had just got her own back and stood her ground. Sometimes I want to say to Annie, you can drop your guard now, it’s ok, you’re safe…” Donovan then turns his attention to a tweet directed at Annie, and she admits that she was affected by what people were saying on Twitter initially, which led to her questioning her own character. And says it took her husband and therapy to work through it.

Weaving the controversial “all men cheat” statement into the conversation, which shook the table at Thobile’s black tie affair. Donovan jokingly says it was a highlight for him and a lot of people, “white men buy, black men cheat…” repeating the statement as he turns his attention to Nonku to pose the question, “how do you know that white men buy?” It’s at this point that things get really interesting and the ladies get comfortable in their seats. Explaining that it’s not something she’s experienced first hand because she’s never dated a white man, “but it’s a well known statement,” sparking a debate amongst the ladies. Donovan brings Jojo into the conversation to get her perspective, “having my husband sitting right next to me, I was like I’m happily married for 10 years now.” Further enlightening that she told him not to say anything because she doesn’t want him to get involved in her arguments. And Nonku finally sets the record straight about Jojo’s husband, affirming that he’s an exception; “Calven doesn’t buy though,” eliciting laughter from the ladies.
