3 Quick fixes for damaged nails

Got a nail emergency? These insider secrets will help your prevent a total tip catastrophe:

1 How to cover up a wet smudge

Put a drop of two of cuticle oil onto your finger and gently rub it over the surface of tour nail to smooth it out. When the coat is dry, apply another one to disguise the smudge.

2 How to deal with a split nail

Apply nail glue to the break then, once it’s dry, buff away the rouge edges and apply a few coats of polish. Start with a nail strengthener before adding two coats of nail polish and your top coat. Don’t forget to keep your cuticles well moisturised and file your nails in one direction only to get round edges.

3 How to mend chipped polish

DON’T apply another coat of polish to the entire nail – it makes the chip look way worse! Instead, paint a thick bead of polish to the chip, and, when it’s almost dry, use a top coat to smooth over it.
